As an MBA student at Vision School of Management, I had the incredible opportunity to be part of an educational tour to the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM Udaipur) – one of the premier management institutions in India. This visit was not only inspiring but also intellectually enriching, offering valuable exposure to advanced academic perspectives and real-world insights in the field of management.
Purpose of the Visit
The primary objective of this tour was to provide us with a glimpse into the academic environment and pedagogy of a top-tier B-school like IIM Udaipur. It was an initiative designed to broaden our understanding of management concepts through interaction with distinguished faculty and by witnessing the culture of excellence that defines IIMs. Such industry-academic interactions are vital in shaping the practical and strategic mindset of future managers.
Lecture by IIM Professor
One of the highlights of the tour was a special lecture conducted by Professor CA. Amish Dugar (IIM Udaipur). The session focused on emerging trends in business strategy and innovation, where we explored real-world case studies and data-driven decision-making techniques. The professor’s delivery was engaging and thought-provoking, encouraging us to think beyond traditional classroom concepts and adopt a more analytical and strategic approach to problem-solving.
The Interactive nature of the session gave us the chance to ask questions and discuss current management challenges, especially in areas like sustainability, leadership, and digital transformation. This kind of exposure is rare and immensely valuable for students like us who are preparing to enter competitive corporate environments.
Campus Exposure & Learning Environment
Beyond the classroom session, we also had a guided tour of the IIM Udaipur campus. 
The infrastructure, the academic facilities, the library, and the technology-enabled classrooms all reflected a strong commitment to learning and innovation. The atmosphere was vibrant with intellectual curiosity and a strong focus on research, teamwork, and holistic development.Meeting some of the IIM students and hearing about their experiences also helped us understand the level of dedication, discipline, and hard work that goes into being part of such an esteemed institution.
Personal Experience & Takeaways
This tour was truly a turning point in my academic journey. It not only motivated me to aim higher but also helped me understand what it takes to succeed in the ever-evolving world of business and management. The exposure to IIM-level teaching methods, critical thinking, and case-based learning has encouraged me to refine my approach to studies and career planning.The visit also fostered a greater sense of collaboration and curiosity among my fellow classmates from Vision School of Management. It reminded us of the importance of continual learning, adaptability, and strategic thinking.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the educational tour to IIM Udaipur was an unforgettable experience that has left a lasting impression on my academic outlook. I am grateful to our college for organizing such a valuable visit and to IIM Udaipur for their warm hospitality and insightful session. I look forward to applying the learnings from this tour in my future studies and career as a management professional. At last my personal gratitude towards our college management & Principal for giving this wonderful opportunity of the visit.
